It's town versus town in lawsuit over hiring of cop

RIDGEFIELD PARK –Village officials have filed a lawsuit against the borough of Paramus for hiring one of its police officers while the officer was still in his probationary period in Ridgefield Park, according to court documents.

Officer Thomas Holden was hired Jan. 30, 2014, to work as a probationary police officer in Ridgefield Park but resigned less than three months later to take a job as a cop in Paramus, according to the suit filed April 3 in Bergen County Superior Court.

The village claims Paramus and Holden violated state and municipal laws.
