Inside the 'eye-opening' drug course parents must take before kids go to prom

BUENA — Buena Regional High School Principal Moses White calls the period between prom and graduation “the season of potentially stupid decisions.”

That’s why his school holds a mandatory pre-prom meeting for parents each spring to talk about the importance of helping high schoolers make smart choices as they navigate the excitement of these end-of-year traditions.

This year’s session included a presentation of the Hidden in Plain Sight program. The Monroe Township Municipal Alliance travels around the region with the mockup of a teen’s bedroom to educate parents about the places kids can hide drugs, drug paraphernalia and other contraband.
