Clean socks: Case of dad accused of killing tot will come down to that, prosecutor says

CAMDEN — Brendan Creato, 3, was in white pajamas and socks, lying on his back, with one cheek lying against a rock when he was found dead half in a stream in Cooper River Park on Oct. 13, 2015.

Assistant Prosecutor Christine Shah described the scene to the jury in her opening statement Thursday, the first day of testimony in the murder trial of Brendan’s father, David “D.J.” Creato.

Shah said that one of the boy’s pant legs was kind of hitched up as he lay there, as can happen when a toddler is carried by an adult.
