Twice late juror dismissed from ex-cop's trial in fatal wrong-way crash

STATEN ISLAND — A juror who was late to the first two days of former Linden police officer Pedro Abad’s double-fatal crash trial was dismissed Tuesday after he told the judge he had a conflict with a Wednesday morning college class.

Six alternates were included in the jury selection in the trial, which is expected to last three weeks.

After consulting with Abad’s attorney, Mario Gallucci, and Assistant District Attorney Mark Palladino, Judge Mario Mattei  excused the juror, and put one of the alternates in his place.
