Jersey Shore mayor who owns bar, hotel tried to block competitor, suit says

SEA ISLE CITY — The longtime Sea Isle City mayor, who owns a bar and hotel in the Cape May County shore town, is being sued by a developer who says his attempts to open a competing business has been stymied by town officials. 

Christopher Glancey alleges Mayor Leonard Desiderio has abused his power to delay the project at the site where Busch’s Seafood restaurant stood for more than 100 years in the Townsend Inlet section of the popular Jersey Shore town.
