Suspect in Tinton Falls standoff was wanted on no-bail warrant

FREEHOLD— A man who hid in an attic of a Tinton Falls home as heavily armed police spent hours trying to coax him outside Tuesday was wanted on weapons and assault charges, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Ryan M. Russell, 38, of Tinton Falls, had failed to appear for an Oct. 11 arraignment on charges of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Russell, who was wanted on a no-bail warrant, will face additional charges stemming from Tuesday’s incident, the prosecutor’s office said.
