Man barricaded in home arrested while hiding in attic, authorities said

TINTON FALLS — A man who barricaded himself in his Tinton Falls home and held police at bay for more than five hours was arrested without incident on Tuesday.

The man was taken into custody after Monmouth County SWAT team members searched the home on Bridle Path several hours after officials repeatedly ordered him to come out.

Donna Weaver, spokeswoman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, said the officers found the man, whose identity has not yet been released, hiding in the attic.

Tinton Falls police were summoned to the home shortly before 9:30 a.m. and the man was apprehended around 2:30 p.m. …read more
