Handicapped parking violation leads to gun arrest

WESTAMPTON — Police arrested a Virginia man on a weapon charge after finding his car in a handicapped spot without a placard or handicapped license plate.

Cameron G. Coles, 20, of Chester, Va. was also charged with two marijuana violations during the April 14 incident at the Wawa on Springside Road.

An officer approached the vehicle at about 9:30 p.m. and asked the driver for his identification and motor vehicle paperwork. When Coles opened the glove box to get the documents, the officer saw a silver handgun in plain view, police said.
