Ocean County officials, DEA reportedly near information-sharing agreement

TOMS RIVER — In an apparent effort to enhance drug enforcement efforts in Ocean County, the county prosecutor and the U.S. Department of Justice may enter into an agreement to share drivers’ information, according to a published report.

The Asbury Park Press reports that the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders on Wednesday will vote on whether to enter into a “Memorandum of Understanding” agreement between the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration to share information obtained from license plate readers.
