CRANFORD — Cranford police have become the first department in Union County to equip officers with Tasers, authorities said Wednesday.
The Tasers will be carried by selected veteran officers who have each completed Crisis Intervention Team training, a 40-hour program focused on mental illness and crisis deescalation techniques.
The Tasers will be carried by the officers during the course of their normal duties.
