Residents to speak against Readington affordable housing plan

READINGTON TWP. – A large crowd is expected to attend Monday’s Township Committee to oppose a redevelopment plan to build affordable housing on 7 acres of vacant land, according to one of the nearby residents.

A public hearing on the redevelopment ordinance will take place during the meeting, scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. It will designate land in Whitehouse Station as the Nelson Street Redevelopment Area District.

One of those living near the proposed district, Maureen Murray Baumgaertner, said as many as 100 people will attend Monday’s meeting.
