Man asking for directions robs Bridgeton resident, cops say

BRIDGETON — A local resident was standing in front of his house when he was knocked unconscious and robbed, police said.

The robbery occurred Saturday at 11 p.m. on the 300 block of East Commerce Street. While the man was standing outside, the robber approached him and asked him for directions.

Next thing the man knew, he was waking up on the ground and missing his wallet, cellphone and money, police said. The man was not injured in the strong-armed robbery.

Police describe the robber as a tall man with a thin build wearing dark clothing.
