Legislators focus on car safety, license suspensions, surcharges | Quigley

Our state legislators want to keep us safe on the road, and they’re working extra hard to help drivers with license problems.

Democratic Assembly Members Paul Moriarty, Gloucester, and Angelica Jimenez, Hudson, are sponsoring a bill that shouldn’t need to be sponsored.  What they want is just plain common sense, but apparently used car dealers don’t think so.

A755 requires dealers to check for recalls before selling used vehicles.  They’d merely have to look at manufacturers’ websites and lists from the National Highway Safety Administration to learn which makes and models have recalls.  They don’t need to fix or replace anything, but …read more
