Healthy weight gain in infants

With nearly 10 percent of infants considered ‘high weight for length,’ University of Delaware researcher Jillian Trabulsi wants to help babies achieve a healthy weight starting with their first months of life. At the fourth International Conference on Nutrition and Growth in Amsterdam, she and colleague Julie Mennella presented preliminary findings about babies on a cow’s milk formula, who had accelerated weight gain, compared to babies fed a hydrolyzed protein formula, who had weight gain similar to breastfed infants. …read more
