Friendly's opens first drive-thru in N.J.

MOUNT LAUREL TWP. — Jim Yanucil has run the Friendly’s restaurant on Route 38, one of 12 Friendly’s he owns in South Jersey, since 1999.

Lots has happened during that time, from the addition of new menu items to the corporation surviving a Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2011. 

Now, Yanucil’s Mount Laurel restaurant is the first in the state to jump on the latest Friendly’s change: the addition of drive-thrus.

“The company started them last year in Massachusetts and they’ve been very successful,” he said at the restaurant.
