Cops seek leads after overnight vehicle break-ins

NEWFIELD — Borough police are asking residents to check their security cameras and lock their doors following a rash of overnight car break-ins.

Police responded to homes on Franklin, Stotesbury and Madison avenues on Saturday morning to investigate vehicle burglaries.

Someone entered multiple unlocked vehicles and smashed windows to access two more. Various items were stolen, police said.

Newfield Police were already investigating similar burglaries reported on March 3. While those unlocked vehicles were ransacked, nothing was reported stolen in those cases.
