Man convicted in 17-year-old's killing at Roselle football field

ELIZABETH — One of three men charged with luring a 17-year-old to a Roselle athletic field in 2012 in a botched robbery that led to a fatal shooting has been convicted in the teen’s killing, authorities said Friday.

Damel Mitchell was gunned down by the robbers on Feb. 19, 2012 as he tried to flee the Sylvester Land football field. The killing shook the community.
