Painter reportedly stole $23K in jewelry from vacation home, cops say

WILDWOOD CREST  — A painter working in an unoccupied vacation home stole more than $23,000 in jewelry, police told PressofAtlanticCity.com.

Joseph Bimbo, 39, of the North Cape May section of Lower Township was arrested after the theft was reported March 10, the report said. The jewelry was not recovered.

He worked in the Wildwood Crest house at some point after the homeowners hired a painting company in late February. 

Bimbo was charged with third-degree theft. He is still listed as inmate in the Cape May County jail as of 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.
