Snowplow overturns, closing Route 206 for more than 4 hours

MONTAGUE — A snowplow slid off Route 206 overnight Tuesday and tumbled down a 10-foot embankment but the driver and passenger escaped unharmed, township Fire Department Chief Ryan Riegel said.

No other vehicles were involved in the 3:30 a.m. crash, which happened a few hours into a snowstorm that is expected to drop up to two feet on northwestern New Jersey.

The highway was closed until 8 a.m., when the snowplow was removed by a heavy duty tow truck.

The crash occurred about a half-mile from the Milford-Montague Toll Bridge, by mile marker 129.
