Paterson charter school official accused of making improper payments to other workers, officials say

PATERSON – The chief operating officer accused of taking more than $75,000 from a Paterson charter school last year allegedly also issued improper payments ranging from $100 to $1,500 to more than 10 other employees, school officials said.

But the other employees at Community Charter School of Paterson apparently were not involved in the alleged wrongdoing and some of them notified superiors about the irregular payments they received, said school officials. All the money improperly paid to other employees was returned to the school, officials said.
