N.J. man accused of killing grandparents says little, keeps eyes shut in court

BRANCHBURG — Speaking in a low, barely-audible voice, Ezra Simon-Daniels, 20, made his first appearance in Somerset County Superior Court Tuesday after being charged with two counts of homicide in connection with Saturday’s murder of his grandparents, Louis Simon and Beatrice Simon.

The slightly built and youthful-looking Simon-Daniels entered the courtroom with his hands cuffed in front of him. He kept his head down and closed his eyes much of the time while a Somerset County Sheriff’s officer stood within with a foot of him.
