JEFFERSON — While the air was still crisp yesterday morning, three teenage boys began 7-mile swim down the length of Lake Hopatcong to help a high school classmate with her medical bills.
With groups of family and friends trailing in pontoon boats, Vinnie Marciano, 14, Tyler McDonald, 15, and Justin Viotto, 15, jumped into the chilly lake and began churning their way south.
The boys were trying to raise money for Emerline Tabares, a Roxbury High lacrosse player and cheerleader, who was aboard one of the boats cheering them on. …read more
