ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP – The last time the media was invited behind the gates of Picatinny Arsenal to take a closer look, it was 2003 and the war in Iraq was just beginning.
For the next decade, the Morris County-based military installation focused on supporting troops and closed its doors.
On Monday, for the first time since then, members of the press were invited to Picatinny Arsenal to learn about how its workforce develops world-class weapons for service members, and, in some cases, get hands-on experience firing off those weapons.
