PARAMUS – At least two workers were injured in an explosion at the Oradell Animal Hospital Friday, borough police said.
The severity of the injuries was not immediately clear though one person was believed to have been more seriously hurt, according to police. There were no reports of animals injured.
Workers were taking apart a MRI machine when it exploded, NBCNewYork.com reported.
Hospital owner Dr. Tony Palminteri told NBC his staff brought the animals to safety, but some were in critical condition from prior medical conditions. Those animals would be taken to other veterinary hospitals for treatment.
