CARNEYS POINT TWP. — Several days have come and gone since Tuesday’s General Election, and still no winner can be declared in the race for a seat on the Carneys Point Township Committee.
Following the count of the provisional ballots in the township, Democrat Charles Newton and Repubican Joseph Racite are tied at 1,001 votes apiece. And now it’s up to the candidates and the township to decide whether they want to pick the winner in a run-off election or something a little simpler, a coin flip.
