BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP – Taxes, smart growth and improving the quality of life are high on the list of priorities for Bordentown Township Committee candidates as they vie for election Nov. 4.
Four candidates are running for the two three-year terms. Democratic incumbents Jim Cann and Jill Popko, are being challenged by Republicans Robert Delaney and Howard Barman.
Cann, 65, and Popko, 55, said the lowered municipal tax rate, increased surpluses and upgraded bond rating are a sign that they have helped put the township on a sound financial footing.
