Driver killed by oncoming van swerving to avoid deer identified

A deer caused a driver to swerve, causing a fatal, head-on crash this morning on Route 206 in Sussex County, state police said. 

SANDYSTON — The driver who was killed when an oncoming driver swerved to miss a deer and caused a head-on crash this morning has been identified by authorities.

Thomas Biasi Jr., a 39-year-old from Stanhope was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Route 206, just after 6 a.m. today, said Trooper Alina Spies of the New Jersey State Police.
