Peter Laviolette Fired, Craig Berube hired as Flyers head coach

Despite the season being only three games old, the Flyers have made a coaching change.

Out is Peter Laviolette and in is assistant coach Craig Berube, a move that Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren felt had to be made right away.

“We don’t look like a team at all,” Holmgren said. “It was a gut feeling that I needed to make this decision.”

Berube will be behind the bench on Tuesday when the Flyers take on the Florida Panthers at home. He will not be the interim coach, instead entering the game as the head coach for the foreseeable future.
