The New Brunswick City Council convened yesterday to pass resolutions on local affairs and hear public commentary on subjects from labor laws to unfair police practices.
The council approved an ordinance congratulating Rutgers students who recently returned from Florida after a bicycle trek to Orlando to raise money for the Embrace Kids Foundation, said Russell Marchetta, New Brunswick spokesman.
They also allowed Rutgers students to solicit funds for the foundation in advance of Dance Marathon, an annual fundraiser at the University, and approved a date change for a Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity fundraiser this October at Buccleuch Park, he said.
