LITTLE FERRY — Police evacuated a Lakeside Avenue neighborhood Tuesday morning after a volunteer worker found an old artillery shell in a backyard.
A crew from Habitat for Humanity was performing work on the home, which was damaged during Hurricane Sandy, when they came upon the ordnance. The crew notified police and vacated the area, police said.
