Ribbon-cutting for new Hoboken park to draw plenty of pols

HOBOKEN — U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez is slated to join other Hudson County politicians at the ribbon-cutting for Hoboken’s new 1600 Park multi-use sports field on Tuesday, city officials said.

The ribbon-cutting for the new sports field, at 16th Street, between Park and Willow avenues, has opened in time for the fall season, will be held at 4 p.m.

Other Hudson County dignitaries expected to join Mayor Dawn Zimmer in celebrating the park opening are Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise, Hudson County Freeholder Anthony L. Romano, former Hoboken Mayor David Roberts and Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner.
