TRAINING CAMP PREVIEW: Salem sets lofty goals under new coach

SALEM — New Salem High School football coach Dennis Thomas doesn’t really care that he’s taking over a Rams team that went winless last season for the first time since 1940.

That’s not exactly true — he probably cares too much, if there is such a thing.

The Salem standout and 1997 graduate didn’t see Rams teams lose 10 games in his four years there, and he’s preparing this team with the expectation it won’t be losing anything close to 10 games this season.
