Skyland Conference field hockey preview: Voorhees is an established power in western New Jersey

Voorhees High School’s field hockey team has clearly established itself as a power in western New Jersey.

In 2012, the Vikings captured the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex tournament championship with a 1-0 victory over High Point. The week before, Voorhees shocked NJSIAA Group 3 runner-up Warren Hills 2-0 in the county semifinals on the Blue Streaks’ home turf.

Voorhees (13-5-1 last season) has the makings of another strong team this fall and should be a chief contender along with Warren Hills in the Skyland Conference Raritan Division.
