NEW PROVIDENCE — Asbestos abatement work began this week on the former site of the A&P at 598 Central Ave. The space will soon house a Fitness Factory and a farmers market-type store.
The site has been vacant ever since the A&P moved to the Village Shopping Center several years ago.
The Zoning Board of Adjustment approved the variance required for the high-end health and fitness club to take 17,000 square feet of the space; 10,000 square feet of the building will be used for a farmers’ market-type store.
