ELMWOOD PARK — BioReference Laboratories has acquired a clinical laboratory in California, the company announced Tuesday.
The company said buying most of the assets of Hunter Laboratories would give it a presence in the California market.
BioReference acquires most of Hunter’s current business, including Medi-Cal, California’s Medicaid system, and a facility that the company will use as a base for its western U.S. operations.
The purchase also allows BioReference to conduct testing locally rather than shipping materials to its Elmwood Park headquarters, Richard Faherty, chief information officer for BioReference, told NJBIZ.
