Booker thanks supporters at Hoboken Terminal after U.S. Senate primary win

Newark Mayor Cory Booker, joined by Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer and Hoboken Councilwoman Beth Mason this morning at the Hoboken Terminal, thanked voters for his landslide victory in yesterday’s special U.S. Senate Democratic primary election.

When Booker arrived to a waiting slew of media, commuters almost overlooked him, but it didn’t take long for them to begin flocking around the mayor.

Final tallies in Hudson County showed that Booker pulled close to 73 percent of the vote with 22,765 out of the 31,434 total Democratic votes, leagues ahead of his closest competitor Frank Pallone, who raked in 12 percent with 3,770 …read more
