78-year-old woman tipped to lottery "scam" when "agent" asks for second processing fee

HOBOKEN – A 78-year-old Clinton Street woman was scammed out of $405 by a swindler who told the senior she had won $3.5 million in a lottery, police reports said.

The woman told police she got a phone call Thursday from a man who claimed to be an agent for a lottery company and that she had won $3.5 million in the company’s sweepstakes.

The 78-year-old said that when she told the man she had never entered the sweepstakes, he told her she had won anyway, police reports said.
